Shaytaan threatens you, Allaah promises you..

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Shaytan threatens you with poverty and orders you to commit Fahsha (evil deeds) whereas Allah promises you forgiveness from himself and bounty and Allah is All sufficient for his creatures needs All knower” [Baqarah 2:268]

  • ·Ibn abi Hatim recorded that Abdullah bin Masud said that the Messenger of Allah said, “Shaytan has an effect on the son of Adam and the angel also has an effect. As for the effect of shaytan it is by his threatening with evil repercussions and rejecting the truth. As for the effect of the angel it is by his promise of a good end and believing in the truth. Whoever finds the latter let him know that it is coming from Allah and let him thank Allah for it. Whoever finds the former let him seek refuge with Allah from shaytan” [Tirmidhi]
  • Shaytaan is an open enemy to the son of Adam. Allaah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) says: “Surely the Shaitan is an open enemy to man.” [surah Israa 17:53]
  • Shaytaan discourages from giving charity as he threatens with poverty and insecurity whereas on the other hand, Allaah promises his forgiveness and a reward.
  • If you give, Allaah will give more
  • If we do good, it is only because of the ability granted by Allaah
  • If we do bad, we should blame ourselves and repent
  • Allaah’s promises are all true whereas shaytaans are all false.  Allaah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) says: “And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, “Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah ] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment.“” [Surah Ibrahim 14 : 22]
  • Allaah has made a promise, do not follow shaytaan, he and his followers will end up in hellfire. Allaah (subhanahu ta ta’ala) says: “So the outcome for both of them (satan and his followers) is that they will be in the Fire, abiding eternally therein. And that is the recompense of the wrong-doers.” [surah Hashr 69:16]

The Best Deal Ever

Friday, August 29th, 2008

As Muslims it seems to be in our blood to always find a bargain, not that its a bad thing but we always seem to be searching for them buy one get one free offers and the reduced prices stickers. While we think of getting a good deal in this dunya, how many of us think about getting a good deal in the akhirah.

Allah [subhanahu wa ta3la] says in Surah Baqarah, verse 254:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لاَّ بَيْعٌ فِيهِ

O ye who believe! Spend out of (the bounties) We have provided for you, before the Day comes when no bargaining (will avail you)..

To get a good deal in the akhirah is simple. Allah aza wajal] tells us over and over again that if we spend the money (that he bestowed upon us in the first place) for his sake; then he will repay us in the akhirah. Its like a special offer where you get 100% money back guarantee plus you get the product plus you get extras, offer ends on the day of judgement or death, whichever comes first. On that day there will be no bargaining, no good deals, no searching for a good price or even offering a good deal even if its a mountain worth of gold. Forget buy one get one free, forget 50% discount or clearance sales, the deal with Allah [aza wajal] is the best deal ever *smiles*
