Lessons from Hadeeth – Something better than Paradise

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: Allah’s Messenger (salAllaahu alayhi wa salam) said, “Allah will say to the people of paradise, ‘O the people of paradise!’ They will say, ‘Labbaik, O our Lord, and Sa’daik!’ Allah will say, ‘Are you pleased?” They will say, ‘Why should we not be pleased since You have given us what You have not given to anyone of Your creation?’ Allah will say, ‘I will give you something better than that.’ They will reply, ‘O our Lord! And what is better than that?’ Allah will say, ‘I will bestow My pleasure and contentment upon you so that I will never be angry withyou after for-ever.’ “

  • Allaah’s pleasure is better than paradise and this is what we should ultimately aim for – the pleasure of Allaah
  • Allaah (tabaraka wa ta’ala) will speak to the people of Paradise – this in itself is such a huge honour for the believers
  • The People of Paradise will already be pleased because they are in paradise but then Allaah will bestow His pleasure upon them and they will increase in happiness
  • The People of Paradise are guaranteed to be there forever – eternity; something the human mind cannot truly comprehend
  • Death will be slaughtered while the people of paradise and hell are watching – due to this, the people of paradise will become happy and the people of hell will become even more sadder (and even more depressed than they already were)
  • Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: Allah’s Apostle said, “On the Day of Resurrection deathwill be brought forward in the shape of a black and white ram. Then a call maker will call, ‘O people of Paradise!’ Thereupon they will stretch their necks and look carefully. The caller will say, ‘Do you know this?’ They will say, ‘Yes, this is death.’ By then all of them will have seen it. Then it will be announced again, ‘O people of Hell !’ They will stretch their necks and look carefully. The caller will say, ‘Do you know this?’ They will say, ‘Yes, this is death.’ And by then all of them will have seen it. Then it (that ram) will be slaughtered and the caller will say, ‘O people of Paradise! Eternity for you and no death O people of Hell! Eternity for you and nodeath.”‘ Then the Prophet, recited:– ‘And warn them of the Day of distress when the case has been decided, while (now) they are in a state of carelessness (i.e. the people of the world) and they do not believe.’ (19.39) [Saheeh Bukharee]

None will enter Jannah due to their deeds..

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “The good deeds of any person will not make him enter paradise.” (i.e., None can enter paradise through his good deeds.) They (the Prophet’s companions) said, ‘Not even you, O Allah’s Apostle?’ He said, “Not even myself, unless Allah bestows His favor and mercy on me.” So be moderate in your religious deeds and do the deeds that are within your ability: and none of you should wish for death, for if he is a good doer, he may increase his good deeds, and if he is an evil doer, he may repent to Allah.”

  • Even if we were to do 100 years worth of deeds, our deeds will not be worth enough to accept us into paradise – it is only through Allaah’s infinite mercy that anyone enters paradise.
  • Allaah says: “Eat and drink in good cheer in return for what you did [in life]!” [77:43] – there is no contradiction with the hadeeth and this ayah. Because of the good they did, Allaah is being kind to them and encompassing them in His kindness. It is not due to their deeds that they are entering paradise. Moreover, due to their good deeds, they are people whom Allaah loves.
  • There is never any contradiction between Quraan and Hadeeth – some ayah or hadeeth may simply just require an explanation.
  • Amongst the hadeeth, there are some that have been abrogated by others. Some the prophet (salAllaahu alayhi wa salam) did in earlier life while others he did in later life.
  • One should take the middle path in religion (but not like the modern day definition of modernists)
  • One should act according to the best of their ability, Allaah has made the religion easy (e.g if someone is unable to stand and pray, they may sit down and pray)
  • One should try their best to do what is closest to the right thing
  • Only Allaahs favour and mercy will make people enter paradise
  • One should constsantly do tawbah and increase in ones good deeds – “”And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (i.e. death)” [15:99]
  • A Mujahid may wish for death as a special case because it is permissible to wish for shahadah.

The Two Groups – Muslim and Non Muslim

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Dhikrullah.com Presents:

The Two Groups – The Muslim and Non Muslim

Surah Zumur [The Groups], recited by none other than Mohammed Luhdaydan. The situation of the group of emaan and the group of kufr on the day of judgement. And well, just watch it..

inshaAllah this is the first of many videos produced by dhikrullah. Every video that comes out will be based upon the Quran and the Sunnah and will mostely contain reminders, not exactly sure what exactly but ah well.

Apologies for the bad quality and stuff, its the first video I’ve ever created. I had this idea for a while as soon as I heard the ayaats being recited, subhanAllah they touched me and alhamdulilah, Allah has now enabled me to really pretty much give my thoughts in visual presentation cos this is exactly how I imagined it while I was listening to this for the first time a few months ago [well except the gates of jannah looked a bit nicer].

The actual video quality isnt the best either, I got a HD version but my laptop broke so Im really limtied in doing stuff but alhamdulilah, all praise due to Allah in all states. Anyways, in terms of the Muslims, this video is supposed to be a form of glad tidings for the Muslims that despite everytone that goes on in this world, despite the fact that currently we are not in the best state, despite the kuffar thinking they are all that..in the end, the victory lies with Allah and the Muslims *smiles*

This way to Jannah

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Say we are on a journey and the tomtom stops working and we become lost, what a relief it is when someone comes up to us and not only offers to help but directs us to the correct path. Going through the journey of life, if we go out and seek knowledge, Allah will direct us to the correct path..

Abu Darda [radiAllahu anhu] narrated that the Messenger of Allah [salaAllahu alayhi wa salam] said:

He who treads a path in search of knowledge Allaah will direct him to tread a path from the paths of Paradise. The Angels lower their wings for the student of knowledge in approval of what he does.

Knowledge of Islam with sincerity to Allah no doubt leads to jannah. If we feel we are lost in life, do the first step which is to seek knowledge of the deen and Allah [aza wajal] will direct us to tread a path to jannah *smiles*

But I thought they were bad?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

After describing the people of jannah and how they will be the successful ones, Allah SWT then goes onto describe the people of hell and and how they will be arguing even amongst themselves in the hellfire. Its not a very well known verse, even just the arabic of it is soo beautiful. Allah SWT says in Surah Saad, verse 62, after the people of jahanam will argue with those who led them astray, Allah SWT says:

وَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَى رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ الْأَشْرَارِ
And they will add: “How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked”
Listen to this while reading it. Its the recitation of the verses by shaykh Mohammed al Luhaydan

subhan’Allah, it reminded me of the current day situation. Look how the western and non muslim media demonizes us Muslims and certain groups and individuals whom they say are “evil” etc. Its not really something you can act upon but rather a reminder that know, oh Muslims, that have trust in Allah, stay firm and know that the true success lies with Allah SWT *smiles*
