Lessons from Quraan | Already Written..

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

“No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being – indeed that, for Allah , is easy. In order that you not despair over what has eluded you and not exult [in pride] over what He has given you. And Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.”

  • Surah Hadeed: verse 22-23
  • Belief in al-Qadaa’ wa’l-Qadar (Divine will and decree) is one of the pillars of faith. The Muslim’s faith is not complete unless he knows that whatever befalls him could not have missed him, and whatever misses him could not have befallen him.
  • Whatever happens is the qadr of Allaah – already written 50,000 years before creation
  • Qadaa’ is the time for it to happen – Allaah causes everything to happen for a reason at the right time
  • Everything is written in al-Lawh al-Mahfooz
  • Everything that happens is in the hands of Allaah so there is no reason for us to despair and worry
  • When someone dies, people should not wail or rip their clothes because it is the qadr of Allaah and Allaah had written for that person to die at that very moment
  • When an event happens, if it is good then we thank Allaah. If it is bad, then we remain patient.
  • When a calamity befalls us, we should say: “qadrAllaah wa ma shaa’ faal” (This is the decree of Allaah and He does what He wills)
  • When a blessing comes our way, the good tiding is from Allaah and not due to our ownself.
  • A good tiding is from the bounties of Allaah and we should praise Allaah for it and give Him thanks.
  • The believer in particular is rewarded in both good times and bad. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for all his affairs are good, and that is for no one except the believer. If something good happens to him, he gives thanks, and that is good for him, and if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him.” (Narrated by Muslim, no. 2999)

Sometimes when things aren’t going to plan and when we have this life vision in front of us and have our life planned. Suddenly it gets turned on its head and you’re left thinking “eh how did that happen?” *scratch* Then we should know that as much as we plan, Allah [aza wajal] has already planned it for us..

Abdullah bin. ‘Amr al-’As [radiAllahu anhu] reported: I heard Allah’s Messenger [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] as saying:

Allah ordained the matters of the creation fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, as His Throne was upon water [saheeh Muslim]

subhanAllah a whole 50,000 years. Not even 50,000 years from now but a big fat five zero thousand years before creation. When suddenly a gift comes from the sky and you thought there was no way out, and Allah [aza wajal] blesses you with something you could only dream of then it was in your qadr. And if things dont work out as you wished then dont worry about it, sit back, relax and know that its already written *smiles*
