One year forgiven, get another free..

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

Everyone likes freebies, since usually we don’t have to do much for them..and well, they’re free. We sometimes find ourselves buying items we don’t neither need nor do we in reality actually want but we simply get because its free. How about if you were to be offered by your lord to be forgiven for the sins you commited in the entire year that just passed and not only that..but out of his [subhanahu wa ta3] mercy he’ll also chuck in a years worth of sins forgiven up front.

It was reported from Abu Qutaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafaah. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” [Muslim]

What a deal! As if being forgiven for the entire last year wasn’t enough, Allah is offering to forgive us for sins we have yet to even commit. It just requires a fast for the sake of Allah, a sincere fast and then inshaAllah we will have one year if sins forgiven and we get another free..*smiles*

Found it!

Imagine that you have just lost your mobile phone and like you are looking everywhere for it and you think thats it, you’ve lost it. You needed it so badly, it had all your numbers and everything and suddenly..you look under your bed, and there it is, that precious mobile phone you had been searching for everywhere. Imagine the joy you would feel and how pleased you would be. Our Lord, Allah [subhanahu wa ta'3la] is more pleased than that when we repent to him.

Abu Hurairah [radiAllahu anhu] narrated that the messenger of Allah [salAllahu alyhi wa salam] said: By Allah, Allah is more pleased wth the repentance of His servant than what one of you would do on finding the lost camel in the waterless desert [Saheeh Muslim]

For turning back to Allah, for asking him to forgive our sins, Allah [subhanahu wa ta3la] is pleased with us. subhan’Allah for us asking him of something and for us needing him, he becomes pleased. And who is it from amongst us that does not want to please Allah? *smiles*
