True Love

16 08 2008

Love is different for everyone. Some define it in complete opposite terms to what others would but no mater what your definition of love is, the only true love, is the love for the creator, the lord of the worlds, Allah [aza wajal]. Every Muslim will claim to love Allah, but how many of us truly do and if we truly do, how many of us know how to love Allah. Allah [subhanahu wa ta3la] says in Surah Imran, verse 31:

قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللّهُ

Say [O Prophet]: “If you love Allah, follow me, Allah will love you..

Allah [aza wajal] is saying IF you love Allah so theres a condition. If you don’t love Allah, then the ayah is not referring to you. Allah is telling the messenger of Allah [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] to tell the people that if we love Allah, the we should follow the Prophet [salAllahu alayhi wa salam]. And to follow him means to love him and follow his sunnah. If we love Allah we can prove it by following the sunnah, in return Allah will love us and with this inshaAllah we shall find true love *smiles*

Saving the best till last

3 08 2008

Usually when you have a choice between a bunch of sweets, people tend to save the best sweet in the pack till last.why is this, probably because they want the taste of the best one to last in their mouth the longest. Or if they’re really fat then they just eat them all at the same time. Either way we can look at our deeds in a similiar way.

Abdullah ibn Masud narrates the messenger of Allah [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] said:

One of you may perform the deeds of the people of Paradise till there is not but an arm’s length between him and it, when that which has been written will outstrip him so that he performs the deeds of the people of the Hell Fire; one of you may perform the deeds of the people of the Hell Fire, till there is naught but an arm’s length between him and it, when that which has been written will overtake him so that he performs the deeds of the people of Paradise and enters therein.

We don’t know when Allah [aza wajal] will cause us to die, could be now, could be tomorrow or it could have even been before the end of this reminder. We dont know what our last deed could be or when it could be so we should try to make our current deeds our best deeds in order for them to be our last deeds so we can save the best till last *smiles*

This way to Jannah

21 07 2008

Say we are on a journey and the tomtom stops working and we become lost, what a relief it is when someone comes up to us and not only offers to help but directs us to the correct path. Going through the journey of life, if we go out and seek knowledge, Allah will direct us to the correct path..

Abu Darda [radiAllahu anhu] narrated that the Messenger of Allah [salaAllahu alayhi wa salam] said:

He who treads a path in search of knowledge Allaah will direct him to tread a path from the paths of Paradise. The Angels lower their wings for the student of knowledge in approval of what he does.

Knowledge of Islam with sincerity to Allah no doubt leads to jannah. If we feel we are lost in life, do the first step which is to seek knowledge of the deen and Allah [aza wajal] will direct us to tread a path to jannah *smiles*

[Dhikrullah Egypt Blog]

A new Dhikrullah mini project about Egypt; the land of Musa [alayhi salam] wa Yusuf [alayhi salam]. A guide for those students who are intending to go to Egypt [most likely for arabic] or for Quranic studies or deen in general. A been there done that point of view from various brothers.

Please note the Egypt project is not finished and is being updated throughout the week. It should be done by the end of the week bi’ithnillah even though its been released now as many Muslims go in the summer to study and the intention is to finish it before a new project in 3 weeks time inshaAllah ta3la. Its also been released as a replacement for the reminder this week as time has been spent on this so therefore no reminder, but normal service should resume next week inshaAllah.

We hope everyone finds it beneficial and if you do, please feel free to pass onto anyone you know who is planning to study arabic or go Egypt or post in any forums etc. barakAllahu feekum.

Because its worth it

27 06 2008

How many times have we thought of doing a good deed but then canceled or changed our mind simply because it seems like its not worth it. Or the hassle is too long for something so “minor” when we could spend our time doing a bigger deed when more often than not, we don’t even end up doing anyway

Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: the Messenger of Allah [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] said:

“Do not disdain a good deed, (no matter how small it may seem) even if it is your meeting with your (Muslim) brother with a cheerful face.”

A deed may seem so small and insignificant in our eyes, however in the sight of Allah, it may be something great. No matter how small it seems, even if it seems like its just part of our habits, we should still continue to do it, because if done for the sake of Allah, who knows what blessings lie in it. Although that shampoo advert may make no sense because like whats shampoo and dandruff got to do with being worth it, but anyways, lets forget head and shoulders for now. Whenever you think of doing any deed, however small it may seem, hurry to do it..because its worth it *smiles*

In a Galaxy Far Far Away..

22 06 2008

A long long time ago in a blessed land far far away..an ayah was revealed. Just like every ayah, not only does it apply to the past, but also to the present and the future aswell.. The slave of Allah is in need of something and who has the ablility to grant anyone anything except the lord of the worlds, Allah aza wajal? We ask, Allah gives. Thats like a dream come true. Allah [aza wajal] says in Surah Baqarah, verse 186:

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ

And if My servants ask you about Me - indeed, I am near;

[click here to listen to Mohammed Luhaydan reciting this ayah]

Allah [aza wajal] hears our supplication and we do not need anyone to deliver the message.Even though Allah [subhanahu wa ta3la] is above the heavens, in terms of us calling onto him and making dua..Allah is always near even if we think we are in a galaxy far far away *smiles*

To be the Best..

8 06 2008

Everyone strives to be the best at everything they do and even if we dont, we all should. And what more important matter is there to be the best then in the deen of Allah [aza wajal]. People measure being the best in different ways and have their own idea of what it means to be the best but the Messenger of Allah [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] said:

Every son of Adam sins, and the best of those who sin are those who repent

In order for us to be the best not just from amongst the believers but from amongst the whole of mankind then we should constantly repent and repent. Its so simple since everyone already sins, the hard bit is already done, all we have to do is repent and ask for Allah forgiveness. Its not hard really, repent and turn back to Allah in order to be the best *smiles*

Its already written

1 06 2008

Sometimes when things aren’t going to plan and when we have this life vision in front of us and have our life planned. Suddenly it gets turned on its head and you’re left thinking “eh how did that happen?” *scratch* Then we should know that as much as we plan, Allah [aza wajal] has already planned it for us..

Abdullah bin. ‘Amr al-’As [radiAllahu anhu] reported: I heard Allah’s Messenger [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] as saying:

Allah ordained the matters of the creation fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, as His Throne was upon water [saheeh Muslim]

subhanAllah a whole 50,000 years. Not even 50,000 years from now but a big fat five zero thousand years before creation. When suddenly a gift comes from the sky and you thought there was no way out, and Allah [aza wajal] blesses you with something you could only dream of then it was in your qadr. And if things dont work out as you wished then dont worry about it, sit back, relax and know that its already written *smiles*
