..next time inshaAllah

25 05 2008

So that might sound like a complete contrast to the other reminder which says dont say inshaAllah..but there are times when we should say inshaAllah [if Allah wills] and we should be aware of the difference..Allah [aza wajal] says in Surah Kahf, ayah 23:

وَلَا تَقُولَنَّ لِشَيْءٍ إِنِّي فَاعِلٌ ذَلِكَ غَدً إِلَّا أَن يَشَاء اللَّهُ

And never say about anything, “Behold, I shall do this tomorrow,” without (adding], “if God so wills.”

subhanAllah even the reason this surah was revealed, surah Kahf, was in order to refute some yahood who had certain questions for the messenger of Allah and he said he would tell them tomorrow however he forgot to say inshaAllah so there was no revelation for 15 days until eventually Jibreen [alayhi salam] came down with the revelation. This in itself is a reminder.

However theres a load of Muslims today who shout random phrases every sentence like inshaAllah I love you inshaAllah or I want to play football alhamdulilah which do make sense..sometimes but its better if we learn the proper use for these terms instead of saying them to sound islamic.

So we should say inshaAllah when we intend a certain action in the future and if we forget we should say it once we have remembered in order to fulfill the sunnah of the messenger of Allah [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] *smiles*

One in Three

18 05 2008

No one wants to be a hyprocrite because well, we know that the munafiqeen are in the lowest of jahannam. So even though we may be sure of our emaan in Allah [aza wajal], we probably dont want anything to do with the munafiqeen and that includes having any of their attributes.

Narrated Abu Hurairah [radiAllahu anhu] that Allah’s Messenger [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] said,

“There are three signs of a hypocrite: When he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is trusted, he betrays his trust.”

So theres 3 potential qualities you find in a hyprocrite that we should try to rid ourselves of. If we concentrate on changing these 3 simple bad qualities then least we can go to sleep feeling that much better. We may have all of them we may have two of them we may even have one of them but we should try to make sure that even if its one in three we change so it becomes zero in three *smiles*

..and this will only make you poorer

11 05 2008

..speaking of how charity will make us richer, we can actually get poorer aswell. We’ll probably also be wondering..”wheres my money gone?” if we deal with interest. We may feel like we’re making more money and gaining but in reality we’re in nothing but loss.

يَمْحَقُ اللّهُ الْرِّبَا وَيُرْبِي الصَّدَقَاتِ وَاللّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ أَثِيمٍ

Allah [subhanahu wa ta3la] says in surah Baqarah, verse 276: Allah will destroy Riba and will give increase for Sadaqat. And Allah likes not the disbelievers, sinners.

Allah [aza wajal] states that he destroys riba, either by removing this money from those who eat it, or by depriving them of the blessing, and thus the benefit of their money. So if we dont want to be poorer either in this world or the hereafter, then let us stay away from interest *smiles*

He died. The End?

4 05 2008

Or is it? Sometimes we may feel that theres only so much good deeds we can do before death but once we finished its the end, khalas, we aint going nowhere. However there is hope.

Abu Huraira [radiAllahu anhu] reported Allah’s Messenger [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] as saying:

When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased).

So we should try right now before we die, to implement all three of these inshaAllah as these will pay off in the long run, in the long long run. Invest in a ongoing charity such as a masjid, gain knowledge and teach it to people so they may benefit. If you cant teach physically, even make a website that has a hadeeth a day or something and also if you have a child, do your upmost to instill love of Allah into them as loving Allah will in turn will make them love their parents and in turn they will naturally pray for you.

Even if you think you havnt done much in terms of rewards in this dunya, try to implement these three as every soul shall indeed taste death and in terms of deeds…maybe its not actually over *smiles*
