The easy way to gain weight

19 10 2008

Before you think this has become some sort of health blog and its encouraging everyone to eat like there’s no tomorrow, this is one type of weight we all need to gain. Most people don’t want to be fat or large and usually want to lose weight if there is a need while others who are underweight intend to put on more weight. In order to do this they would eat more and try to gain muscle and do whatever is needed to be a little heavier. Point being whether you want to lose weight or gain weight, you do what it takes to do so. But on the day when the scales are measured and everyone wants their scales to be heavy, theres a simple way to increase it.

Abu Darda reported the Prophet of Allah [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] said:

“Nothing is weightier on the Scale of Deeds than one’s good manners.”[Bukharee]

There are many other ways and the dhikrullah is also something mentioned in a hadeeth as being heavy on the scales but if we try our upmost to have good manners which is free anyways, then our scales will also be heavy. In the case of yawmul qiyyamah, being heavy is a good thing and this really is the easy way to gain weight *smiles*

How to earn 10 times your wages!

12 10 2008

No its not one of those pyramid schemes and nor is this a scam. This is a guaranteed method, guaranteed by none other than the lord of the worlds, Allah [aza wajal]. Before the dunya lovers get all excited thinking this post is about the monetary paper money of this world, this is about the currency of the hereafter, the currency of ajr, reward; the only currency that matters

Allah [subhanahu wa ta3la] says in Surah al Ana3m, verse 160:
مَن جَاء بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا وَمَن جَاء بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلاَ يُجْزَى إِلاَّ مِثْلَهَا وَهُمْ لاَ يُظْلَمُونَ

Whoever shall come [before Allah] with a good deed will gain ten times the like thereof; but whoever shall come with an evil deed will be requited with no more than the like thereof; and none shall be wronged.

Theres not much to do really, all you have to do is do a good deed and you get 10 times the reward. subhanAllah, look at the mercy of Allah. In a normal situation, you get what you give. So if you do something, you expect your wages to reflect that but Allah is the best of providers and he gives his servants the best of wages. In this recent global economic crisis, we are all worried about the dunya but we should know that there will never be a economic crisis with Allah [aza wajal] and our reward is guaranteed inshaAllah. And thats how you earn 10 times your wages *smiles*

And then there was one..

5 10 2008

A classic scene in a horror movie or horror fiction is when theres a group of people walking in a forest or graveyard [Allahu a3lam why you would randomly do that anwyay] and then as they walk together in a group..one by one they are each taken away from the group. And even though this might be scary or stupid or funny to some, our life can be seen in a similiar light..

Anas [radiaAllahu anhu] narrated that the messenger of Allah [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] said: “Three things follow a dead person: Members of family, his property and his deed. Two of them return; and one remains with him. The people and his wealth return; his deeds remain with him.” [saheeh Bukharee]

We spend our lives accumulating wealth and trying to be financially happy yet at the end of the day we take none of it with us when death comes to us. We break ties with our family over petty problems when we are commanded to keep the ties of kinship and just like the wealth, when death approaches it is too late, they also they also do not follow us. At the end of the day, the only one that matters is our good actions so we should concentrate most of our effort on these.

Just like in the films you go with a group [your deeds, your family and your wealth] and one by one they are snatched away from you until you are left with only yourself and your good deeds. At first there was three, two will be taken away and then there is one..*smiles*

The Two Groups - Muslim and Non Muslim

2 09 2008

Dhikrullah.com Presents:

The Two Groups - The Muslim and Non Muslim

Surah Zumur [The Groups], recited by none other than Mohammed Luhdaydan. The situation of the group of emaan and the group of kufr on the day of judgement. And well, just watch it..

inshaAllah this is the first of many videos produced by dhikrullah. Every video that comes out will be based upon the Quran and the Sunnah and will mostely contain reminders, not exactly sure what exactly but ah well.

Apologies for the bad quality and stuff, its the first video I’ve ever created. I had this idea for a while as soon as I heard the ayaats being recited, subhanAllah they touched me and alhamdulilah, Allah has now enabled me to really pretty much give my thoughts in visual presentation cos this is exactly how I imagined it while I was listening to this for the first time a few months ago [well except the gates of jannah looked a bit nicer].

The actual video quality isnt the best either, I got a HD version but my laptop broke so Im really limtied in doing stuff but alhamdulilah, all praise due to Allah in all states. Anyways, in terms of the Muslims, this video is supposed to be a form of glad tidings for the Muslims that despite everytone that goes on in this world, despite the fact that currently we are not in the best state, despite the kuffar thinking they are all that..in the end, the victory lies with Allah and the Muslims *smiles*

The Best Deal Ever

29 08 2008

As Muslims it seems to be in our blood to always find a bargain, not that its a bad thing but we always seem to be searching for them buy one get one free offers and the reduced prices stickers. While we think of getting a good deal in this dunya, how many of us think about getting a good deal in the akhirah.

Allah [subhanahu wa ta3la] says in Surah Baqarah, verse 254:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لاَّ بَيْعٌ فِيهِ

O ye who believe! Spend out of (the bounties) We have provided for you, before the Day comes when no bargaining (will avail you)..

To get a good deal in the akhirah is simple. Allah aza wajal] tells us over and over again that if we spend the money (that he bestowed upon us in the first place) for his sake; then he will repay us in the akhirah. Its like a special offer where you get 100% money back guarantee plus you get the product plus you get extras, offer ends on the day of judgement or death, whichever comes first. On that day there will be no bargaining, no good deals, no searching for a good price or even offering a good deal even if its a mountain worth of gold. Forget buy one get one free, forget 50% discount or clearance sales, the deal with Allah [aza wajal] is the best deal ever *smiles*

Its not Ramadhan

26 08 2008

Well not yet anyways. Disregarding the fact ramadaan is not for another 10 days or so inshaAllah ta3la [woo, can feel the excitement already] but also its just like a pet peeve, its not spelt ramadhan, its ramadaan. Lets look at the original arabic of the spelling: رمضان

Theres a ra ر, a meem م, a dwaad ض, an alif ا and a noon ن. So where on Allah’s earth is the dhal ذ which everyone puts on on? Some may argue you can never transliterate correctly and everyone has their own method but while this is true at least dont add letters that arent there. If anything you can put one “a” there or two due to the alif ا and that can be a difference of opinion. A dwaad or daad or however you want to spell it is hard to transliterate but it definetely doesnt transliterate as dhaad. The same dwaad is in surah fatiha, hope everyone doesnt say waladhaaleen.

Its like when you actually say it, you dont say ram-adhan [like call to pray]. It reminds me of the classical asians in their surah fatiha in the last ayah, they going all good and then suddenly out comes “walad zwaaaaaleen” and you’re like eh, where that come from.

Anyways its not even that important, just one of thoese thing. However you spell it, what matters is not how you spell it but what you do to become nearer to Allah [aza wajal] in it. *smiles*

Facing Rejection

22 08 2008

When we think of rejection, usually the first thing that comes to mind is marriage! No one likes to get rejected, even the arrogant ones who think they wont get ever get rejected are afraid of it. Aside from when we’re excited to complete the second half of your deen, its still possible to be rejected in a way far worse, with far more consequences..We always worry about getting rejected by potential spouses or job applications or the football team or being rejected from the rejection club,  but what about getting rejected by Allah [subhanahu wa ta3la]

Narrated from the mother of the believers, Aisha [radiAllahu anha] that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:

“He who innovates something in this matter of ours that is not of it, will have it rejected” [Bukharee]

Rejection in the deen is worse than rejection for marriage. Its sad that we are so worried to get rejected in matters of dunya but when it comes to the akhirah, we’re more than happy to invent something without worrying about rejection from our creator, Allah [aza wajal]. No ones saying dont invent, actually go invent all you want, just not in matters of the deen. When you get a new idea that you think will be good for the deen, go ring up the inventors society and talk to them about it. The religion  of Islam is complete and perfected by Allah [aza wajal] so lets avoid bringing in new matters otherwise we’ll definately be facing rejection *smiles*

True Love

16 08 2008

Love is different for everyone. Some define it in complete opposite terms to what others would but no mater what your definition of love is, the only true love, is the love for the creator, the lord of the worlds, Allah [aza wajal]. Every Muslim will claim to love Allah, but how many of us truly do and if we truly do, how many of us know how to love Allah. Allah [subhanahu wa ta3la] says in Surah Imran, verse 31:

قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللّهُ

Say [O Prophet]: “If you love Allah, follow me, Allah will love you..

Allah [aza wajal] is saying IF you love Allah so theres a condition. If you don’t love Allah, then the ayah is not referring to you. Allah is telling the messenger of Allah [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] to tell the people that if we love Allah, the we should follow the Prophet [salAllahu alayhi wa salam]. And to follow him means to love him and follow his sunnah. If we love Allah we can prove it by following the sunnah, in return Allah will love us and with this inshaAllah we shall find true love *smiles*
